Safekeeping Your Laptop By Using A Hard Laptop Case

by Shannon Hilson on April 17, 2011

Protecting your new laptop computer is an important step. After all, these computers cost anywhere from a few hundred up to a few thousand dollars. Knowing how something as simple as a drop from a short height or even tripping over your laptop could damage the fragile components inside, you likely want to do whatever it takes to keep your computer safe. One option that many people prefer is the use of hard laptop cases.

When it comes to protecting you machine, hard laptop cases are the best choice. The hard outer shell of the case which is generally made of plastic or metal can survive falls, bumps, drops and other kind of damaging situations. Depending on the type of padding that has been used inside the case, this could mean that even the most dangerous of these events would not be able to cause damage to your laptop. If you travel by bus and frequently take your laptop with you then this can be a great choice.

Another benefit of hard laptop cases is that they have several built in security features. Many of the cases that are available in the market these days have combination locks on them and this ensures that the thieves cannot get access to your laptop without the proper code. Once again, this can be a very useful feature if you use your laptop in close public quarters.

It is very important to realize that there are some negative aspects related to hard laptop cases. For starters, these cases are quite heavy and given the weight of the laptop, accessories and charger, it can be quite cumbersome to carry the case. There have been cases when prolonged use of laptop cases has led to shoulder and back problems and pain. If you are going to use one of these cases then it is recommended that you keep alternating hands while carrying the case.

When you are shopping for a hard metal case for your laptop computer, you need to find out how secure your items would be in the case. Putting a laptop in case that has no means of holding the laptop can cause severe damage to the laptop. Choosing a case that has internal padding or that uses straps to secure the case can ensure safety. This not helps in keeping your laptop secure but also ensures that the outer shell of the case provides the kind of security that it should provide.

Hard laptop cases can be an excellent way to keep your computer safe. They are sleek, stylish, and relatively easy to carry. If you have been looking for a better way to carry around your laptop and are worried about the risk of damage from drops and dings, a hard case might be the right option for you. These cases are perfect for people who are constantly on the go. While most hard cases offer only minimal room for accessories and components, they offer the best protection for the computer itself.

Recommendations To Buying The Best Notebooks At The Finest Costs

by Charles Parley on April 15, 2011

Before you rush off and buy yourself a PC, there are few things to consider. Only when you know what you need it for, what you expect it to do and how you expect to use it will you be able to choose the best computer from the dizzying array of choices. The two most popular platforms are PCs and Macs, and that should be your first decision, which one are you after?

Apple makes all of their own Macintosh computers so there are only a few models available, but PCs are made by a number of different businesses so there are hundreds of different options. Apple manufactures all of its own computers, but there are hundreds of providers that make PCs. This freedom of movement comes at a cost though - most notebooks are pricier than desktops.

But they can be more expensive than their Computer counterparts, especially their best computer, the top of the range pro Mac computers in their aluminum casing. Other Apple options are their entry level notebooks and then they also have a super computer. This computer is thinner than your index finger, and extremely light, yet as powerful as most desktop computers.

They are all superb computers, but remember the ultra thin version has no DVD drive built in, but then again very few computers can beat this version for its for portability. When it comes to PCs the options are almost endless. You can find miniature ones on the market, which may be great for simple things like web browsing, checking email, even word processing or watching a DVD, but they are not capable of running all software.

If you have to tote your computer with you at all times, and want to lighten the load of your bag, keep an ultra-portable notebook in mind. Manufacturers go to great lengths to build the lightest, tightest, sleekest machines - and unfortunately the easiest way to do that is to pare down features, power and speed. Mini computers or netbooks are the tiniest options, sporting the bare minimums of hardware, power, screen and keyboard size.

The absolute priority is mobility, size and the internet (wireless connectivity). Optical media (CD and DVD) drives are rare to find on these devices. Their focus is on wireless connectivity and the Internet. You will not find CD or DVD drives on these gadgets.

Now you should look for the best value laptop that you can buy on your budget. You can find the best laptop for the money which doesn’t have to break the bank.

Laptops and the Problem of Overheating

by Shannon Hilson on April 7, 2011

Laptops have changed the scenario of the business world in specific and other fields in general. People looked forward for such a remarkable device when they found themselves confined to use computers inside their living rooms or bed rooms or offices only and the time they needed to move somewhere out they had to leave this new friend of them at home.

Although this invention broke records of other human wonders but it also exhibited some flaws. One of them is that they heat up after certain period of time and either blow up or stop working or switch off automatically. Laptop overheating occurs mainly due to chips and other little machinery like transistors as well which continuously generate heat. One of the most common causes of overheating is blocked air vents when dust blocks the fans and air vents designed to cool your laptop. Every company which is in the race of manufacturing laptops is facing same complain that is the overheating of the portable system.

There are well known manufacturers like Sony, Dell, HP and Acer and several others but all of the above mentioned names face the same problem with their products and that is overheating and suggestions to help users will be discussed one by one:

Laptops by Hp heat up continuously even if they are three or six months old and solution can be found in monitoring your laptop temperature with free software called Speed Fan by Alnico or by getting it cleaned up as the cooling port can be clogged up with lint causing the CPU to overheat and the laptop to shut down.

Many people are complaining it’s the heating up of laptops that is bringing out performance problems, even the paint metal flap that covers the video card on the bottom of the laptop started peeling due to the heat. Dell answers it by informing users to try a notebook cooler like antec or targus.

If you have one from Lenovo then it’s technically the hinges that support the heating up of the whole system and its regular service after regular intervals can help reduce the problem. Lenovo has heating problem due to its manufacturing and users can do very little about this problem.

In case of Samsung the suggestion to control problem is to check the heat-sink assembly/fan and remove the dust which hinders flow of heat and air through these components. If this does not fix the problem and the laptop has vents on the bottom of the laptop, then get a cooling pad.

Always use your laptop on a tray, desktop, or other cool surface. Use compressed air or aerosol duster to blow out the dust from the vents. This duster can loosen the debris, and then use a vacuum cleaner with crevice tool to vacuum out the dust and dirt. Some of the laptops have these features in there BIOS and there CPU temperatures and fan speeds can be adjusted from there. More than the tangible equipment the intangible stored data is important which can be saved by being little more careful.
