Online Bass Lessons: Take Lessons As Many Time As You Want

by Kyle Chatman on February 24, 2010

Whatever your reasons, you want to learn how to play bass. You don’t have to go to music school to do this. You can take online bass guitar lessons. You don’t even need a bass guitar to start out with. Any acoustic guitar will do, since the top four strings of any guitar are the four strings of a bass guitar. What you learn on an acoustic guitar you can then transfer to bass.

Tune all your strings one by one by matching the sound of the strings to the corresponding note on your tuner. Tuning your bass is not hard. But as with any other instrument it involves practice, and of course, practice makes perfect. After a while you may find that you do not even have to rely on an electronic tuner to tune your bass.

Beginner bass players should learn scales right away to save them years of time, trouble and frustration, but that most often never happens for them. Intermediate bass players have to have some patterns under their belt to even be at an intermediate level, however, they are usually the most frustrated players because they feel like they are getting somewhere with their instrument, but the are so held up with partial information that they can’t move beyond where they are at.

Advanced players must have some command of scale, chord and arpeggio patterns, to be advanced, yet often they get real fast and efficient with enough patterns to impress others and get by, but they realize how extremely limited they still are, and how they are not really as advanced as they would like to be because of their insufficient scope and grasp of a complete mastery of the fretboard with the current patterns that they already know, as well as the theoretical aspect behind the patterns and their use.

The goal is to be able to play all the exercises at 100 beats per minute. When you are able to do that, it will be fairly easy to further increase the tempo. Here is a suggestion for advanced practice: Try to play all the way through all three exercises without stopping in between. When you do this, the last note of the eighth note exercise will become the first note of the triplet exercise.

Hand Positioning: When playing the slap bass technique you must first make sure your hand is in the proper position or else it will be hard and awkward to play this style well. First, bend your arm at the elbow so it allows you to rest your thumb on the low E string.

Imagine a scarecrow in a corn field - that is how your arm should be bent. With your arm bent in this position it will allow your hand to be in the perfect position to allow your wrist to move freely to strike the strings.

A bass guitarist/bassist is like the anchor of a band. He/she outlines the harmony of the music being performed, while simultaneously indicating the rhythmic pulse of it. The bass guitarist is like the lifeblood of any band, and the bass guitar is his/her tool of choice, used to mesmerize audiences. A bass guitar is a bass stringed instrument that is played with the fingers.

The truth about how to play bass is finally revealed! Visit us at online bass lessons to get all the free insider information.

Ay, Caramba-Bank Checks Featuring The Simpsons

by Alan Plastin on January 23, 2010

The Simpsons is the longest-running American sitcom, the longest-running American animated program, and the longest running American prime time entertainment series. Today, you can even have the famous family printed right onto your personal bank checks.

Matt Groening created The Simpsons for the Fox Broadcasting Company. It was meant to be a parody of the middle-class American lifestyle and the main family members were even based on Groening’s own family members. The Simpson family members are Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. Some of the minor characters, however, have become just as well known as the main characters.

The show debuted as its own stand alone show on December 17, 1989. It first appeared as shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show on April 19, 1987. Later on, it became the first Fox television series to get in the Top 30 ratings in a season.

The Simpsons has won 26 Annie Awards, 24 Primetime Emmy Awards since debuting, and on January 14, 2000 it got its own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The series itself revolves around a family that lives in the fictional Mid-Western style town of Springfield. (A specific state is never given, as there are many “Springfields” throughout the United States.) Homer is married to Marge Simpson, a housewife and mother to his three children, Maggie, Bart, and Lisa. Bart is a ten-year-old boy that often gets into trouble; Lisa is a smart eight-year-old; and Maggie is the baby who always has pacifier in tow. The characters never age.

There are also many quirky minor characters that include teachers, co-workers, family members, friends, local celebrities, and other townspeople.

Quite a bit of merchandise exists for the show. You can find everything from board games like Operation, Monopoly, and Clue featuring the Simpsons to posters, coffee mugs, and T-shirts. When the movie was released, twelve 7-Eleven stores were turned into Kwik-E-Marts, a popular destination in the series, as part of the promotional efforts.

Today, if you’re a fan, you don’t have to find a Kwik-E-Mart to show your love of the show-you can merely carry the family around in your checkbook.

If you decide to purchase The Simpson’s checks, you can bring all the comedy to your own life every time you take out your check book and write out a check. The checks, which come in various designs, contain Bart, Homer, Lisa, and Marge & Maggie. They also come in four different rotating designs. You can also purchase return address labels and a matching checkbook cover to coordinate with your new Simpsons checks.

The checks themselves, which only contain the main Simpson family members, feature each character in a different position. In one particular series, Bart is shown looking up with a specifically contented look on his face and a thumbs-up. A skateboard and the words “Looking fabulous” are on this check.

Lisa’s check proclaims, “The truth must be told” and has the image of a saxophone.Homer’s check shows him with a donut and the words: “Donuts…is there anything they can’t do?” Maggie and Marge are on the last check with the words “The extra ingredient is care.”

If you want to save money on your checks, try buying them online and don’t go to your local bank. You can save as much as 50% off the cost that your bank might have charged you if you try a safe website. In addition, you will have a variety of designs to pick from and your new checks will arrive in about 5-7 days.

Before you order Simpsons checks, go to SimpsonsChecks.net to find coupons and to save up to 50% off your next order of Simpsons personal checks.

Development of the PS3 Game Console

by David Sullivan on January 23, 2010

It has been long since the first gaming console was introduced and through the years, several gaming consoles had been designed to cater the gamer’s interests. Some of them are Super Famicon, Sega Console, Gameboy, PS1 which have perked up the interests of many people. And now, the introduction of one of the latest gadgets in the gaming industry just made quite a great impact in the whole planet.

Way back May 16, 2005; Sony officially introduced the most-awaited PS3 at the E3 Conference as they demonstrate the console’s specifications by sample games like Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Final Fantasy VII with the latest available graphics.

The first product has the specification of as follows: HDMI ports, three Ethernet ports and six USB ports though this was changed a year later to just one HDMI port, one Ethernet port and four USB ports to minimize cost. It was initially introduced in Japan last November 11, 2006 and then in North America that same year.

These are the 20 GB model and the GB 60 model which at that time, costs $499. It includes an HDMI port, Wi-Fi internet, flash card readers and a chrome trim with the brand logo coated in silver and over 81,639 PS3 consoles were sold within that same day it was introduced.

Unfortunately, due to some unforeseen circumstances, the supposed global launch was delayed until March and because of this, Sony advised their clients that they’re eligible for refunds if they had prepaid for it. On the other hand, they can still push through their pre-orders. Though this is not a good start for Sony’s newest product, Sony was still confident about the console’s capability to gain the favor of clients.

Aside from these mishaps, PS3 also received unfavorable reviews in terms of games and the prices. This resulted in an unfavorable marketing position against its console counterparts namely the XBOX and the Wii wherein, both systems have a more economical price, complimented by various games with quality.

Also, some even said that it was not compatible and developers find it difficult to program. Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick also confessed that Nintendo’s XBOX and Wii have higher sales rate. However, despite all these negative feedbacks from around the globe, there are still some who believe in the capability of the PS3 and what it CAN do rather than what has happened in the past. The fact remains that PS3’s remarkable quality is something that gamers can look forward to and it’s just a matter of time before great games will get developed for the said console. Even so, there are a lot who believe that the PS3 is one of the must have gadgets of this time despite the limited availability of good games.

On the other hand, Sony also developed another version of PS3 to support the downtrodding sales trend of their first product. The new product is called the PS3 slim which has received more favorable reviews compared to it’s predecessor, the same with an increase in sales in less than a day after it was first released. With it’s low-power consuming system complimented by a more reasonable price, clients and gamers alike, find it more efficient for their gaming needs and the only criticism that it got was it’s slim, “ugly” appearance, comparing it to the more well-suited appearance of the actual PS3. Overall, the repackaging of the PS3 proves to be one great countermeasure by Sony and if things continue to go well with it, then Sony should be able to gain back their lost revenue with the prior model.

Great computer electronics are here and software resources for good software products.

The Brightest and Best of Famous Hollywood Actresses

by Chris Channing on January 12, 2010

Hollywood is home to the worlds most beloved and recognized actresses. They are the best in the world, and often perform in top movies and make headlines regularly. Famous Hollywood Actresses are A-List stars, and will likely remain famous for their entire life.

Some of the most famous actresses aren’t the best of course; in fact, some of the most famous Hollywood actresses around the world have poor acting skill and rarely do well in movies. High grossing actresses like Sigourney Weaver and Meryl Streep are known for their astounding roles in movies. Sigourney Weaver just received major reviews for her role in Avatar, and continues to impress fans around the world with her superior acting.

For some fame isn’t everything. Being a well known actress doesn’t automatically entitle you to happiness or the best movie roles. Some actresses are thrown out due to their addictions and substance abuse problems. Fame can turn ugly quickly, especially for young Hollywood stars like Lindsay Lohan. Following the wrong crowd or getting caught up in the fortune can lead to the end of their acting career.

Modern movies are quickly attracting Hollywood’s youngest and brightest actresses. Kirsten Stewart is quickly gaining fame due to her role in the Twilight films. She is already a superstar to many teenagers and some adults. Her acting and tough exterior seem to draw in fans from around the world. Emma Watson is also one of such famous actresses, who has played in all of the Harry Potter movies as Hermione Granger. She isn’t in many other movies, but she is quite famous for her acting and modeling.

Child actresses such as Abigail Breslin and Dakota Fanning continue to wow audiences with their astounding roles. These two actresses were known for profound roles, but as they get older their roles get darker and more grown up. In the future these two will likely continue to amaze viewers with more intense acting. Important roles Abigail Breslin fulfilled includes Little Miss Sunshine, and Zombieland. Dakota Fanning has made a spot for the Twilight Saga, and will also perform in The Runaways.

Hollywood Icons differ from Hollywood actresses. The Icons are the women that have been acting for years upon years, while the famous actresses are usually just well known. These A-List stars set themselves apart from the crowd because of their skill, personal life, and fashion. It’s a combination that creates the ‘wow’ factor when they perform in movies.

Closing Comments

Sometimes famous actresses receive bad media for things that go on in their personal life. They are just as real as the rest of us, and also have feelings. The only difference is that they have worked hard for the roles they play, and they earn more money.
