Overall, this is a great disaster movie filled with great special effects, and human drama. As the government deals with how to handle the problem of an ending world, we see how several different characters deal with as well as the earth changing disaster slowly reveals itself to the unsuspecting public. Some of these characters will find a way to survive, while many will not.

Some of the characters that we meet are fine, upstanding and moral people that we wouldn’t mind having as next door neighbors, or even in-laws. Nevertheless, we must watch as they realize that the end is near, and they must accept their fate.

As those that survive come together and discover the “project” that the world governments have been secretly working on, we are faced with a dilemma. If you were to only save a small percentage of the population, who would be saved? The super smart? The super rich? The common man? I believe this question is effectively and satisfactorily answered. I recommend that you watch this movie as soon as possible, before the end comes for real.

Movies, plays, and stories have been an integral part of human history as long as humans have been around.

Before they could make movies, people would sit around and tell each other stories. Usually each tribe, or village, had it’s resident story teller, who was gifted in the art of taking people into a temporary fantasy land with only his or her words. The power of simple stories to help people overcome the stresses of ordinary life is phenomenal.
