LG55LW5600 3D Smart LED TV

by Derek Armson on June 23, 2011

The electronics manufacturer LG is gaining a reputation in the television market for producing high quality, technologically advanced, and affordable TVs. One of their most impressive TVs is the recently released LG55LW5600. This LG 3D LED TV has many notable specifications, which will be explained in this LG LED TV review.

Built to a high spec and full of interesting and easy to use features the LG55LW5600 offers a 55 inch screen with full HD at 1080p and is just a very, very good TV from LG.

A ground-breaking Smart TV, it also boasts 2D to 3D picture conversion. Many new sets have this, personally I would stick to native 3D. Despite that, this is a superb new TV from LG, so let’s get down to reviewing it.

A Smart TV is designed to be an “entertainment portal” for all of your content, be that online, streaming or from your set top box. Including a unique web browser and LG “Magic Control” all of your desired media can be accessed via the very easy content menu. Navigation is a breeze.

And, importantly, this LG TV comes with integral wi-fi. This means there are no plethora of wires to hook up you can stream via the house wi-fi hub. Indeed, the connectivity pack supports any needs you might have.

The “jack-pack” allows you to attach pretty much any device you might want to. For the record it includes 4 x HMDI, 2 x USB and 2x AV. It also benefits from RF, RGB, LAN (Ethernet) PC Audio and Digital Audio. With the wi-fi as well, all based are more than adequately covered.

So, an impressive feature list, but…what’s the picture like, after all that is why anyone buys a TV! I’ve watched a lot of LED and 3D TV sets and generally pictures are getting better all the time. What I like about this LG TV is their LED PLus imaging technology. In short it helps make a bright, crisp clean image with outstanding contrast…one of the best HD images I’ve seen.

The technology utilises local dimming to improve contrast, thus giving darker blacks and more vivid colours. Pictures are also made crystal clear with this TV’s full high definition capabilities, and a screen resolution which is almost double that of standard definition TV’s.

Fast moving images retain their sharpness using TruMotion technology at 120Hz, meaning that sports, action movies, and video games can be seen with no blurring.

The LG55LW5600 is not only a Smart TV but a fully functional 3D TV, so it offers all 3D functionality. LG boast that this set utilizes their actual cinema 3D technology. I’m not sure about that, but again, it is one of the best 3D images I’ve seen, although there is still the odd bit of crosstalk (3D image blur) here and there at the edges of the image. But LG do offer four pairs of free 3D glasses with this model and that is a huge cost saving!

Therefore images are sharp and bright, and can be viewed from almost any angle without any loss in picture quality. The sound system also adds to the cinema experience, as this LG LED TV incorporates an Infinite 3D Surround Sound system.

To start summing up, this is pretty high spec TV set for the price. the 3D quality is very good and I really enjoy the added variety that Smart TV has to offer.

LED TV sets are great at energy efficiency and this set is no different. It is energy star qualified so you can be confident you’re getting the energy efficiencies we all look for these days.

I have to applaud LG for their commitment to becoming one of the best in LED TV, 3D TV and Smart technology. They are well on the way to achieving their aim, and I like that they do it at such a competitive price as well. As far as Smart TV goes, I really love the fact that it allows access to such a huge range of media.

Looking For Cheap Satellite TV?

by Ryan Steele on June 20, 2011

Practically everybody who watches television would like to have cheap satellite TV service if they knew they could get it. A few people in remote parts of the world where there is no electricity don’t watch TV. There are some people in America who don’t watch TV but they are the sort of people who read books and do a lot of do-it-yourself projects.

However most people like to watch TV and they want to enjoy the experience. And most people do not wish to spend extravagant amounts of money to be able to watch TV. Okay, some people do like to spend a lot of money on TV. They consider it a luxury and they want to show off. So they buy the most expensive huge flat screen that will fit in their house and speakers as big as Stonehenge. Luxury-loving television watchers will also spend a fortune signing up with the most expensive provider.

But normal people who consider television more of a necessity than a luxury are not looking for ways to spend the most money. They just want a good home entertainment value. They want to see the programs they want to see and they want their programs to look good. And they don’t want to break the bank doing it.

There may be some economy-minded people on the earth who still watch a box with rabbit ears on top or one connected to a scary looking antenna on top of the house. These are people who drive a Desoto and don’t know that it’s a vintage automobile. When you mention satellite to them they think of Sputnik.

However, people who are actually living in the 21st century and are aware that they are want something better. These folks may have already tried cable and decided they still want something better. So they will begin to investigate what satellite can do for them.

Then they will begin to compare satellite providers. There are a lot of options available. This is not like when there were three VHF channels and one UHF channel and they only broadcast in color about half the time and signed off the air at 2 am with the National Anthem or Jan Peerce singing Bluebird of Happiness.

Nowadays there are lots of channels and people who want to get the best bundles have to do their homework. They study the ads and look for specials. The go to the website and compare prices and products. Smart people ask their friends which satellite provider they have and how they like it. They find out what channels they get and how much they pay. It’s no bargain to get two hundred channels if none of them have the programs you like.

Some shoppers go on the internet and ask questions on sites that discuss consumer products. They go to Facebook and ask their FB friends. If someone complains vehemently about their crappy satellite provider find out who their provider is and who they are switching to.

After doing some diligent research you may find that the best provider of cheap satellite TV is Dish Network. You may find that they have low prices and bundles that include the channels you want to watch. If that is the case you should call them and sign up. That’s probably what a sensible person would do.

Mountain Movie, As soon as Appreciate Won’t Rely

by Kaye Reid on June 17, 2011

They’re hired to take care of sheep in the mountains of Wyoming, they’ll spend summer time together in high altitude, they will live and work side by side during all those days. As they arrive to their destination, “del Mar” , feeling well informed, releases several words from his mouth and starts talking a little more and showing some signals of sympathy to his buddy. He’s a tough young man having a family history with resemblance of the nightmare from one of those Dickens stories. No one suspects anything “out of normal” is happening within the story. Days seem to be passing with no great novelty.

But something new happens, something from the regular tasks of these business days and nights at Mountain. Something has arisen between your two men, it is just like a storm originating from nowhere which has entered their lives which will mark them forever. It appears to be only a passionate episode of the lonely at the start, a dream that none is ever going to know. But reality dictates different things, what just happened, continues happening once and again, they are attached forever with a force which makes or bends the desire of anyone; something we might call, love.

The summer time is over and both men must go back to their worlds away from the mountain, for their previous lives, but inside them in a secret place they know those lives exist forget about. They have been confronted by their most inner reality and it won’t go away. They’ll marry wives and make an effort to pursue a “normal” life simply to realize they’re being a set of fakes. They don’t fit in with that traditional society, they belong only to each other since those day in high altitude. They finally decide and meet again outside “del Mar’s” home, a poor second floor apartment. He hasn’t had much luck in everyday life since childhood and it seems to accentuate everyday, now even his wife is aware of his preferences. We’re inclined to conclude his only luck and fortune in everyday life is exactly what he feels for Jack, his “fishing buddy”.

Things go wrong at “del Mar’s” home, marriage brakes and he is left alone fighting for life in a society that would stone him to death if they only knew. But there are bright moments too, and those happen where he regularly meets Jack who travels from far away Texas to meet the only love he has known.

By the end of the story there have been conflicts arising between the partners; an excessive amount of distance and just a scarce proximity can not improve any relation. They’ve just were built with a bad encounter in their paradise, they part away using the promise of meeting again and connect so what can be fixed when suddenly the storyline takes us to some scene where “del Mar” receives the notice of Jack’s death in a cold post card with letters that say “deceased”. Everything indicates he’s been murdered, he was caught by those who won’t let the “others” happen. And today Ennis del Mar continues to be left apart from society, together with his love eternally longing for Jack along with a daughter that will get married soon and who doesn’t know his dad is a loner for a reason; and love won’t count.

Know More About Louisiana Film Tax Credit

by George Harris on June 11, 2011

While Louisiana may offer a relatively good deal in its -30% transferable incentive for full and state expenditures related to the production of a film, there exist a few significant downsides to filming there as compared to other states.

While tax incentives induce economic advantages to that particular state, secondary economic benefits also take place. An example is film induced tourism or FIT. Nevertheless, Louisiana hosts hundreds of films, which have not increased or even experienced film induced tourism.

A number of other states in close proximity have both tax incentives and also have been observing film induced tourism for the past decade such as Georgia and North Carolina. Though seemingly perfect for a production that has a non-urban or suburban setting, Louisiana is incredibly identifiable and does not have that “Anywhere, USA” adaptability that other cities say Atlanta or Wilmington have. In contrast to Louisiana, North Carolina has shorelines that are comparable to that of California, minus the steep Hollywood production cost. Additionally, travel in and out of Louisiana, particularly New Orleans, just isn’t a piece of cake, especially since Hurricane Katrina’s devastation and the resulting infrastructural failures. Once more, Atlanta provides a really practical substitute for Louisiana, as Atlanta hosts the busiest airport in the country and provides very adaptable travel arrangements that any production officer could require. And also, EUE/ Screen Gems, a renowned movie and tv production company, are conveniently located six miles from Atlanta’s Hartsfield- Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Louisiana has been hit hard by the recent economic depression as well as disasters, forcing numerous residents to move elsewhere. The output of the work force has proved to be unfavorable to the movie industry as many employees are now earning a living for other companies not based in Louisiana. With no convenient airport close by and a labor force that’s been decreasing within the past few years, the movie industry in Louisiana isn’t what it was in the past. Although major movies have been shot there, they’re mostly computer animated and tv shows are leaning more towards the production sites in North Carolina and Georgia. Actually, EUE/ Screen Gems is now home to more than nine television programs this year, including a 9th Season of “One Tree Hill” that is presently being shot in Wilmington, North Carolina.

It is very essential to offer a versatile location for filming when choosing production studios to work with. As mentioned earlier, although Louisiana may provide cost-effective options through extensive tax incentives, it doesn’t provide a convenient city location for filming. While New Orleans is definitely an exciting place full of culture, it’s unique and recognizable, and really can’t be used when searching for a “generic city” type feel. For that reason, if a film or television show needs urban scenes, it is likely that they’ll have to travel to a close convenient city, raising production expenses with transportation expenses for stars, staff, as well as crew. This hassle looks avoidable when EUE/Screen Gems production studios in Wilmington, North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia have the 2 biggest stages eastern side of California.

While the cost of movie production keeps rising, tax incentives were approved to actually reduce production expenses and encourage the domestic economy in Louisiana. This Louisiana film tax credit is the new backbone of movie financing equations.
